About our Koanga Paua space

Kōanga Paua is a warm and engaging learning environment where children are encouraged to explore, create, build friendships and grow in confidence. through play-based learning, outdoor exploration, group experiences, and intentional teaching opportunities, tamariki are supported to develop communication, independence, problem-solving and a love of learning.

Huanui Hive

Our Huanui Hive programme supports our older tamariki as they begin preparing for school through small group learning experiences that help develop early literacy and numeracy foundations. Children become familiar with the rhythms and expectations of a classroom environment through mat times, routines, turn taking, and learning alongside others. This Encouraging listening, communication, early problem solving, self-help skills, confidence and growing independence. This helps support a positive and successful transition to school.

Hours

We offer short days (8.30am till 3.30pm) and long days (7.30am until 5.30pm). We require a minimum of two booked days a week

School readiness

Our small group times are created to what each child needs at their developmental stage to set them up for a sucessful start to school life

Lunch boxes

To best help your child prepare for Primary school, we are a lunch box centre. setting the stage for future school while delivering the food whanau know they love to eat
